Life Groups
|
God's word teaches us the importance of relationships and how we are to come together to minster to each other. Whether its comforting a friend in despair or celebrating an answered prayer the life group is where our Christ likeness is given the opportunity to grow. We would encourage you to join a life group or other small group fellowship in your own church. This is where God has the opportunity to work to provide the biblical nourishment and support to reach what he has planned for you.
We are a church that celebrates diversity within our church family. We are a multi cultural and multi racial family with the many parts coming together with the one purpose to glorify our father. The following are some of our life group leaders that are enthusiastic about having others take their next step in faith as we grow closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. Please feel free to visit one of the life groups and begin a journey. |

Fred & Mary Chalker are one of the life group leaders at Palm Beach Baptist Church. The group normally meets in room 304/305 of the Family Life Center. Fred has a passion for learning and teaching God's word as his excitement permeates the class room environment. Fred is also the church's volunteer business manager and provides oversight with the finance team of the church's finances.
Fred also is a fellow servant of our Lord Jesus Christ through his ministry work at Living Waters Ministry which helps the people in Haiti receive God's word as well as providing physical nourishment and education to the people. When Fred is not tending to the church or their ministry, his wife Mary and him can be found planning their next baseball stadium visit. |

Luis and his wife Lety are our Foundations leaders. The small group setting of our foundations class allows individuals and couples to understand the basic building blocks of the new found Christian life. Whether you are a new believer or just have a desire to review the foundations, Luis and Lety are enthusiastic to help.

Jean is involved with the teen life groups for our boys and girls on Sunday mornings as well as Wednesday nights.
We are blessed to have so many active adult leaders that have taken to heart the teen ministry. Coming along side our teens to discover how to live the life of Christ in a worldly environment is what our teen leaders strive for. |

Rich Martin is our college and career life group leader while his wife Heather is actively involved with others in the nursery ministry. Rich's life group meets in the conference room in the administrative building on Wednesday evenings. Rich enjoys teaching and learning from his life group as they lay the foundations for a lifelong journey with the destination to become more like Christ.
Rich has also answered God's calling to serve as a missionary in Haiti. He is currently putting together the support for him and his wife along with three children to relocate to northern Haiti to manage the living waters campus. |

God's teaching through Paul in the book of Ephesians describes the aspect of diversity in unity and not uniformity. Each member of the body was designed in the function of the body as directed by the head and in accord with the purpose of God. Mary Tonnsen is a member of the body that brings a tremendous blessing to God's family in being able to communicate to others through the gift of sign language. Mary serves as one of the life group leaders, but also demonstrates her love for others by providing sign language interpretation of the Worship and Teaching parts of the services.

Bob along with his wife Patti are another one of our life group leaders. As with other life groups the relationships don't stop at the church boundary but permeate every aspect of life. God has blessed Bob and Patti with the desire for the children and teens as Bob enjoys coming along side our younger children in the AWANA program and help them in their next step of spiritual maturity. Patti as well is one of our teen leaders that helps foster an environment which welcomes our teens to share in their life experiences and to take one step closer to Christ.

The Good Samaritan described in Luke 10:25-37 teaches us Christ like behaviors in our daily lives. Having compassion, willing to spend time and using the resources that we are given to come along side others to lift up so that our father is glorified is the expectation. Ora serves as one of our life group leaders, but like so many of our church members have developed a kindred heart to assist and strengthen those needing a helping hand. Through her volunteer efforts at Oasis she has helped to transform a number of ladies to realize their inner as well as their outer beauty. Ora also serves as a greeter and uses her abilities as a makeup artist for the drama team.
