The Focal Point

In the world of interior design many designers talk about the focal point of the room.
The room has to have a center point for the rest of it to be in harmony. It could be a fireplace, a piece of art, or a certain piece of furniture. For Christianity our focal point is to be Jesus. He is the centerpiece of what we believe. Tracing all the back from the Old Testament the story of Jesus coming to earth to offer Himself for our sins is told over and over again. It is easy to make other things the focal point of our faith thinking that it is more important than Jesus. We can make people, things, and preferences when that is not what the writer of Hebrews says. Everything that is in our room of life is to build around the focal point, which is Christ.
